There comes a time in your life when you have to make a decision about which way you want to go; stay with what you've got or start over. In hindsight, I should've started over long before I chose to, but I didn't have the option of hindsight then. I guess that's why they call it hindsight. So, I chose to start over, with a new life, at the age of 38. I didn't realize how crazy it was going to be.
My whole life, I've worked as a traffic reporter for radio and TV. That in itself is not a normal job, so why would I think that divorcing my wife and continuing my life in traffic would be any less crazy? It wasn't, but it was a hell of a lot of fun, even scary at times, but well worth the trip.
This is my story of taking a leap of faith, not knowing where I was going to land, but figuring anything had to be better than to be stuck in a lifeless marriage. I was right, of course, life was much better on my own. The hard part was that I didn't want to be alone. I wanted to find the perfect woman, but my journey to find her was not going to be easy. This is the story of my quest for love, but finding something along the way I hadn't been prepared for. I found myself and I found some good friends too. It wasn't easy, but nothing worth having ever is.
So, come along on my journey. Be sure to buckle your seat belts, though, because this ride is anything but smooth. Sometimes you take the long way, but in the end, there was no other path for you to choose because this is the path you were destined to take. Hindsight is overrated.
Stuck in Traffic eBook Jim Battagliese
Good book by one of the most colorful characters in my Traffic career. It has sex, violence, a jeep, and a dog. It was a good quick read, and I have reason to believe that no traffic reporters were murdered in the making of this book, but not true of all of the characters in the book (see, there's violence in there too).For anyone who sits in traffic, driving at idle speed while sitting on the parking lot that the Interstate has become, this is a look at one of the personalities that makes your Traffic and Weather on the 1's happen. Good Stuff.

Disgusting poorly written "book" which reads more like a scorned horn dog. Sure hope his daughters don't read this. Pathetic and embarrassing for all involved.
Very fun read! The first person, guy-centric quasi-romance is an under explored genre. Great beach or vacation read for anyone.
Sometimes it's nice to hear a guy's perspective of life and "what happens after". Mr. Battagliese's memoir was entertaining and endearing, and just enough "R rated" antics. Almost "50 Shades of Jim" --almost.
Not everyone comes of age when they are in their 20's. This is an engaging story, I suspect mostly true, of one mans journey to maturity in his 40's. The story takes us on a trail of quirky relationships and crazy work situations or maybe that crazy relationships and quirky work situations, all over the country. A fun and quick read, perfect for the shore as we head into summer.
